I noticed Corrine Brown's blog recently, one where she touts herself as champion to the black community in her district.

While I think what she is doing is great, I am not black, am in her district, and I not only want to be heard, since it seems no one is listening to me, I want to be helped. Two separate pleas to Corrine Brown for help, were completely ignored. I have also Tried DCF's Fred Johnson, Spoksman to the governors office Timothy Ring as well as several contacts with the Governors office for help, and they all lie, put off and refuse to listen/take action..

I'm on SSI with clear mobility issues acquired via the Polio virus. I'd cracked ribs twice from falls, messed my arm up from accident that took 2 yrs to heal and in the midst of all that, had little to no help, no car, and a very hard time just getting food due to transportation and physical issues, let alone trying to take care of myself. A very scary and worrisome situation. At that time, I asked Corrine Brown for help because Fred Johnson in Jacksonville/Duval county would not do his job, that is unless his job was to ignore and put off the legitimately needy and aging handicapped. He said help was available, gave few details, he didn't follow proper procedure by contacting me by mail once a year to see if I still wanted to be on this "list" he kept referring to. After mailing once or twice, then stopping, he then called for a couple of years, then just went away. I told him I was in need each time. He never did so much as to send someone down here to do an assessment, too much trouble I guess.

It ended when I had it out with Fred and Timothy Ring..DCF by email, where I just got a bunch of lies and more put off, then "blame the victim" if I wouldn't just give up. Fred never would answer US mail pleas in writing or email me and at the end, I refused to talk to him on the phone where he would just BS me to leave no paper trail, at that point it was said *I* was uncooperative/the problem, common tactics when they have no defense for their actions. Tried 8 yrs to get help and when I last tried, Fred told me he would give me a phone number so I could be put on another "list"..ha!. I gave up and contacted my Congressperson, Corrine Brown to no avail, still ignored to this day and it's been years.

Still in need, living in South clay county, but no one listens. Contacted the Governors office several times, more runaround then they finally pushed me off on Timothy Ring where they knew perfectly well what the outcome to that would be. And sure enough, just like Fred, another put off, might as well say con artist, conning needy folks out of their much needed due, but you know as well as I, that's just the way they do things down here in FL because people like Corrine Brown that are supposed to help, simply look the other way as their needy are thrown under the bus. Fearing for my sanity throughout this I also emailed mental health, River Regional in Middleburg, twice.. completely ignored. So, best I can figure, the plan is to ignore people like me, at least until they end up in the hospital where they "may" then get the benefit needed to help avoid that, or worse, till they end up dead, and of course, that would solve the problem nicely. Too harsh?..then you tell me what they're waiting for?

Contact your congress person? I actually believed that, and took the time/effort to write Congresswoman Brown a very long/detailed explanation of my situation..ignored, I sent it again....nothing. I got what amounted to a slap in the face for my efforts. No, I'm not black, I'm actually about as much of a nobody as a nobody can be to many, but, believe it or not, to me I'm somebody..I matter. However, when ignored by the very people that are "supposed" to be standing up for me... Fred Johnson @ DCF, Corrine Brown, and Timothy Ring, I'm inclined to believe I'm most certainly a nobody to them. WTH is with this state?
